The Learning Disabilities Federation offers vital support for carers through advocacy, information and training. Carers receive these services through home visits, appointment to our office, by telephone, in meetings and events and through newsletters. The Learning Disabilities Federation supports carer representation on a number of North Tyneside Learning Disabilities Partnership Board's sub-groups and offers direct support to the Carers' Forum. The LDF is also supporting the Board to implement the National Carers Strategy.
Who should attend the Carers Forum?
Carers Forums are designed for carers of young people and adults with a learning disability and their families/relatives. The Carers Forum may be of benefit to others who are already engaged in partnership working and have responsibilities for taking Valuing People programmes forward. Don’t forget we are offering a free buffet lunch and refreshments at this meeting. Support workers can be booked (free) to offer any assistance or an alternative programme for relatives. Please let LDF know if you need additional support to attend.
